A smart-travelling favorite. When Fran Camaj opened Gjelina in 2008, he had set out to make a place for good food with friends, but since then his fans have multiplied to the point where it is difficult to get a seat at peak times. Wait out the line over a drink at the bar where you can peruse the menu, from which we would order ever dish from top to bottom, if we could. Everything is delicious, farm-to-table and made to perfection so you can’t go wrong. Favorites include the salad and vegetable starters, the mushroom toast, either the lamb burger or the Gruyere pizza and for dessert the sticky date cake. If you are in a hurry, pick something up next door at the Gjelina Take Away GTA which has a similar menu.
